Product Development & Consumer Insights for Beauty Brands | MBA Candidate | Licensed Cosmetologist
Projects
I partner with founders and teams during high-stakes moments in product development, when assumptions need to be tested and direction needs to be clear. The work focuses on evaluating product direction, refining communication, and aligning expectations with real-world performance.
The projects here illustrate how these decisions are made in practice, especially as brands grow, shift, or reassess their approach. Each example reflects a focus on how products perform in use, how consumers experience them, and what supports long-term trust.
Soft Rows
Soft Rows is a textured haircare brand developed to support versatile styling without compromising performance or hair health. I partnered with founder Quani Burnett to evaluate early product concepts, clarify consumer needs within the textured hair category, and shape how product performance is communicated in real-world use. My work spanned concept evaluation, performance communication, and the development of a scalable education framework that supports adoption, trust, and long-term brand growth.
The Barb Shop
The Barb Shop is a hair care line built for short hair, a category often underserved by mainstream haircare. Since 2022, I’ve partnered with founder Sheena Lister to evaluate and refine product performance, clarify how products are communicated to consumers, and ensure visual representation aligns with real-world use. My work has spanned hands-on product testing, packaging and educational copy, and campaign styling, helping the brand scale with performance, clarity, and credibility.

Curl Magazine
Curl Magazine is a trusted resource in the textured hair space, amplifying expert voices and supporting curl-conscious consumers through education, storytelling, and product discovery. As a contributing expert, I served as a recurring panelist answering live questions from readers, offered practical guidance rooted in hair science and salon experience, and contributed written insights to magazine features. My role centered on bridging the gap between professional expertise and everyday haircare, empowering consumers to better understand their hair, their routines, and the products they choose.
